The long sword doesn't have the "Light" property, so while you can dual wield it, as much as you can any weapon in 5e, it really isn't that good. You won't get your proficiency modifier etc. unlike the Short sword for example, that has the "light" property. Two Weapon Fighting is NOT dual wielding, what you got is a fighting style that allows you to add your modifier to your offhand melee weapon. You need the Dual Wielder feat to use non light weapons who aren't heavy like longswords etc. There is a feat that allows you to use versatile weapons to dual wield.
